Welcome!

The National Organization of Blind Educators (NOBE) is a division of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB). Established in the early 1970's, our goal is to provide the Nation's blind teachers with a forum to discuss the issues of being a blind teacher as well as to form a network of support and information for those seeking a career in education.

One way that we reach for this goal is through our mailing list. To subscribe, simply follow this link: Subscribe to NOBE-L.

In addition to the mailing list, NOBE holds an annual seminar and business meeting at the National Convention of the NFB each summer.

If you are new to the field of education, either as a student or a teacher, our mentoring program gives you the opportunity to talk with a blind person who has experience teaching in your area of interest. You can sign up for our mentoring program by sending a request from the Contact Page. Include your subject and grade level in your request.
